Clothing with built-in sun protection is becoming more popular these days.  I was shopping for baby swimsuits at Target recently and was able to find some really cute items with 50 UPF.  UPF stands for Universal Protection Factor and is similar to SPF in sunscreen.  However, it’s better than sunscreen, because it doesn’t sweat off, come off in water, and it’s not messy.  This is really great for kids who are especially vulnerable when it comes to sun damage.

In fact, one sunburn in childhood greatly increases skin cancer risk in adulthood.  Playing in the great outdoors is wonderful for children’s learning, fun and exercise.  Wearing sun protection clothing helps protect children (and adults) from damaging UVA and UVB rays.

Baby Luxe has developed a line of sun protection clothing that ranges from basic tees to cute dresses that are lightweight, cool and easy to layer.  These can be worn year round in any kind of weather, because the sun comes out everyday.
